Volunteer, Ashika Strong Arrives - AGAIN!

Thank you to Ashika who has returned again this year to volunteer at the schools for a month.

She is a nurse so will be busy visiting the villagers and checking their health issues.

Yesterday was a fun day in the library making masks.

Ashika is volunteering at Brighter Beginnings in Prokeab.

August 9, 2013

A big thank you to Ashika who has arrived from Australia early in August, along with another volunteer who wishes to remain anonymous.

Ashika enjoys educating the villagers on health and hygiene.

They were very interested in her information and particularly wanted to ask questions about their individual ailments... so it became a clinic rather that a lesson. As a result, two of the women will be taken for hospital visits in Takeo next week.

Ashika has also been to Battambang to visit our Cambodian "Parents Unfailing Love" Family (A landmine-affected family who have three sons who cannot walk, talk or hear and a daughter that is deaf, mute and the only child born without a disability. The parents spend their days lovingly caring for these children with NO resources.)

Ashika will run more classes as well when she returns to Takeo.

Hi Pauline,
l just want to say a big thank you for the opportunity you gave me in allowing me to be part of your organisation and help the people in Cambodia. I don't know if l was much help but feel that next time l will be able to offer more help. Socheat and Parong were so wonderful they made me soooo welcome and welcomed me into their home and family. I can't thank them enough. I learnt to love the people, the children, the life style, just everything. Words fail me. Cambodia has a way of growing on you. You either feel it or you don't. It became part of me and I am so grateful for being able to spend time there. It was dirty dusty and yes l got sick of the bugs. I missed hot water and had to learn a lot of patience but l won't change a thing.
Many thanks, l hope you will have me back. loved and blessings... Ash
